Practical insights as a key element

MD ELEKTRONIK GmbH invites the University of Applied Sciences, Rosenheim to an excursion

As a regional partner, MD ELEKTRONIK has cooperated with numerous educational institutions for many years. Within the framework of this cooperation, the automotive supplier welcomed 27 students who are studying mechatronics at the Rosenheim University to a guided excursion in order to give them an insight into the company and various technologies.

At the beginning of the excursion, the students visited the accredited MD test laboratory. After the presentation of numerous simulations and measurements, the students could test their knowledge in practical exercises. "After learning about the tests and procedures in our laboratory the students will gain a better understanding for the combination of theory and practical application”, stated Gerd Mittermaier, Vice President R&D at MD ELEKTRONIK and initiator of the excursion. "Practical insights are the key factor for successful studies." The explanations of the products and innovations by means of a car model, the 3D-part printer and an MPS system (modular production system), which was developed and manufactured by MD, were also very interesting and informative, summarized Prof. Dr. Christian Meierlohr, Professor at the Rosenheim University and lecturer of the mechatronics students.
At the end of the excursion, all visitors were presented with an extraordinary gift – a key fob with the emblem of both the university and MD which had been manufactured especially for this visit by an MD trainee product designer.
